About This Coffee
From the rugged Cañón de las Hermosas in Tolima, this exceptional Pink Bourbon is grown by Rodrigo Oyuela at Finca Villamaria. As the president and founder of the COAGROHERMOSAS association, Rodrigo is a respected leader known for his dedication to high yields and quality.

After a lifelong family tradition in coffee, Rodrigo purchased Villamaria with an agreement to pay for it slowly through his coffee sales—a debt that fuelled his impressive pursuit of agronomic excellence and led him to plant exotic varieties like this Pink Bourbon. His farm covers 33.5 hectares, with 8 hectares dedicated to coffee trees.

Rodrigo's meticulous approach to processing is key to the coffee's elegant profile. It begins with a strong focus on cherry selection: he pays a premium for perfectly ripe fruit. The unique process includes:

Initial Oxidation: Cherries undergo a 12–14 hour oxidation.

Double Fermentation: After mechanical demucilaging, the beans are placed in a GrainPro bag with the collected mucilage and honey-water for a 22-hour secondary fermentation, enhancing the inherent sweetness and clarity.

Washing & Drying: The coffee is washed twice with clean water and then dried slowly for 10–15 days in a "Casa-Elda" (a specialized drying house with a sliding roof), allowing Rodrigo to precisely control the drying environment for a pristine, expressive cup.

Cup score: 86.75. We recommend this coffee as filter as it is super delicate and light. Does make for a pretty funky and acidic espresso if you're that way inclined though!
