About This Coffee
This exceptional coffee comes from the Kiandu Coffee Factory, one of the largest facilities managed by the Mutheka Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS) in Kenya's globally renowned Nyeri County. The factory lies near the town of Tetu, with its land nestled between the majestic Mt. Kenya and the Aberdare Ranges. This prime location provides the rich, red volcanic soils and ideal climate necessary to produce the intense, structured acidity that defines great Kenyan coffee.

The Mutheka FCS was established in 2004 and now supports nearly 6,000 small-scale growers. Quality control at the Kiandu Factory is rigorous, beginning the moment cherries are delivered. Growers are rewarded for delivering only the ripest, handpicked cherries, while any under-ripe or damaged fruit is strictly rejected and penalised. This commitment to meticulous sorting and processing ensures only the highest quality coffee makes it through, resulting in a pristine and vibrant cup profile.

Cup score: 88. We've roasted this coffee pretty light but is does make for a bright, fruity espresso as well as being a banging filter coffee
