Our first Kenyan release of the season is here—and it’s a beauty. This Karimikui AB is super-clean, bright, and balanced, bursting with notes of mango and stone fruit, with a vibrant citrus zing that makes it an instant crowd-pleaser.
Grown in the highlands of Kirinyaga, at the foot of Mount Kenya, this lot comes from the Karimikui Factory, one of three processing sites operated by the respected Rungeto Farmers Coop Society, alongside Kiangoi and Kii.
Terroir & Traceability
Established in 1953, the Rungeto Farmers Coop Society now supports around 3,500 smallholder farmers, most of whom cultivate just one hectare of land. Coffee is intercropped with vegetables for household sustainability, making each plot a true family-run operation.
What sets Karimikui apart is its remarkable terroir:
Altitude: 1,700–1,900 MASL
Soil: Rich red volcanic earth
Rainfall: 1,600–1,900mm annually
This coffee is everything we look for in a Kenyan lot: high acidity, juicy, and drinkability. It's a reminder of why Kenya remains one of the world’s most iconic origins—and why Karimikui continues to be a standout year after year.
