About This Coffee

This brilliant lot comes to us from Finca Bethania, managed by the Peralta family’s Cafetos de Segovia in northern Nicaragua. The Peraltas are true pioneers of quality in the region, known not just for running immaculate farms, but for their deep commitment to sustainable agriculture, protecting local water sources, and treating their team with immense care. They focus heavily on nurturing unique, larger-format varieties that thrive in their specific microclimate.

This particular coffee features the Maracaturra variety—a natural cross between Maragogipe and Caturra that produces massive beans and an intensely fruit-forward cup. To highlight those bold natural characteristics, the team used a careful Anaerobic Natural process, sealing the cherries in oxygen-deprived tanks to build deep, complex sweetness without losing any of the fruit's brightness.

The result is a punchy, vibrant cup with an 87-point score that balances rich fruit with a zesty edge. You’ll get notes of juicy strawberry and ripe papaya, all lifted by a sparkling lime sherbet finish. It's a fantastic, expressive coffee that holds its own whether you're brewing it as a clean filter or pulling it as a sweet, lively espresso.
